Notekeeper Icon Notekeeper is an intuitive notes app which you can use to build your personal knownledge-base as a web of linked notes. Unlike popular AI chatbots and notes apps, it's privacy forward - so you can be comfortable using it for personal and sensitive information.

The inbuilt AI assistant is your highly knowledgeable thought-partner to help analyze and curate your personal knowledge-base. It is built to be applicable to a broad spectrum of knowledge analysis and web research. The AI assistant works directly on your notes along with internet search to provide you with personalized AI responses and optionally even edit your notes.

Low Cost and No user lock-in 💰

Notekeeper only charges for index (and AI, when used). Small notes are often smaller than 1000 bytes and its rare to see notes exceeding 100K bytes. A 1M bytes of index on JewelBox costs a surprisingly small 15 milli-cents a week.

Notekeeper allows you to download your notes in widely supported, open and easy to understand formats (JSON, Markdown) if you want to migrate to another notes app. We have no intentions of locking you in.

Unlock AI on your personal information

The concern about using personal information in AI chatbots is real. Unlike web searches and social media, AI conversations can be deeply revealing about sensitive personal information like relationships with family and friends, financial information, politically sensitive research and health / fitness information. Notekeeper Icon Notekeeper brings in two key capabilities:

Notekeeper safeguards your notes and AI conversations from illegitimate use by encrypting it in your browser before uploading it to JewelBox cloud. The encryption keys stay only with you, so only you acting within Notekeeper can decrypt and access your personal information.
Notekeeper doesn't bias your AI responses to push engagement and revenue numbers. Traditional web search and social media are known to notoriously bias towards incomplete information or even misinformation to keep their engagement numbers high. Though not proven yet, we do think AI chatbots will follow suit.

Notekeeper Icon Notekeeper achieves this by directly using your notes (and only your notes) to drive AI responses. We don't "profile" you behind the scenes and inject that in AI responses to bias towards "agreeable" responses. We think users will value unbiased truth esp. in knowledge / research workflows.

Use of OpenAI

We use state-of-the-art OpenAI models in our AI assistant. Your decrypted notes _are_ sent to OpenAI's cloud services (outside of the JewelBox environment) to generate AI responses. However, the ownership of your data is not given to OpenAI:

As per OpenAI, 2023-3-1: Their API data (Notekeeper uses OpenAI APIs) isn't used to train / improve models.
Notekeeper also disables storing data in OpenAI.

Also, notes data is sent to OpenAI only if you use the AI features in Notekeeper. You can choose which model to use for your AI conversations and pricing across them is transparent.
